After years of struggling to have satisfactory suspension for heavy cars, most top class speed runners have switched to solid links, or spaced the suspension units out until they no longer move anyway. These arms allow the easy achievement of a small amount of well controlled travel. Gone are super heavy springs with poorly matched damping oil. Gone are shocks overloaded with heavy springs they were never designed for. Gone are dampers trying to control suspension in barely more travel than the thickness of the damper plate. Where before 5mm of wheel travel would mean 2.5mm of damper travel, now it can be 5mm.

Using an innovative suspension link, inspired by our work in the motorcycle industry, we have created an adjustable, progressive link suspension system. The suspension rate/hardness is increased by 1.75 to 2.25 times, with three positions to choose from.

The stock arrma suspension units are retained, unaltered. No heavy springs required. No need to adjust the damping fluid. The spring of a shock absorber is matched to it's damper. You cannot change one without the other. This arm set uses the same, already matched springs and damping, but by using excess travel via the rocker link, creates harder suspension.

Ride height is controlled by titanium turn buckles, enabling each wheel's ride Hight to be very easily adjusted without changing the pre-load setting of the suspension. Gone are the days of fighting the droop screw setting against a huge amount of pre-load to find a good setting. Droop screws are retained, but act as limit stops, rather than preload/ride height/limit stops combined.

Camber is now easily adjusted. An M6 locknut is used on the upper arm, allowing fast, accurate adjustments. Gone are the plastic C washers, or having to strip half the car in order to adjust camber. A huge improvement!

The geometry of the rear arms is modified from stock, moving the wheels rearward, whilst maintaining the set toe angle. This brings the rear axles into better alignment, reducing friction and wear of the shaft pins - a problem that increases quickly with car weight and speed.

The super strong 7075 arms are carefully machined out to provide massive strength and stiffness without adding lots of weight. The lower arm is a 'gull wing' shape to enable perfect suspension setting with the stock length shocks. The added stiffness transforms control over the wheels.
